Literacy Council

The Literacy Council has been enhancing reading skills for more than 36 years in the Lake Havasu City community. In July 2013, the Literacy Council became a service provided by the
Interagency Council, continuing to offer a comfortable environment for enhancing one’s reading skills.

Lessons are:

  • literacyFree
  • Private
  • Confidential
  • Conveniently Scheduled
  • Can stop or start when you wish (lessons move at the desired pace of the participant)
  • One-to-one

To sign up or get further information, please call the Interagency Council at (928) 453-5800.

How can I help?

The Literacy Council would not exist without volunteer tutors. Tutors are trained in the use of methods and materials to teach or improve reading, writing and basic math skills. Visit our Volunteer Opportunities (hyperlink to volunteer page) to begin your support through volunteerism.

Donations are always welcome and support the purchase of learning materials. Checks can be made to the Literacy Council, delivered and/or mailed to 1940 Mesquite Avenue, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.

Please contact the Interagency Council at (928) 453-5800 for more information.
